River Wye Cores End © M. Forshaw
A number of weirs still exist on the River Wye that impede the free passage of fish along the course of the river to a greater or lesser extent. The ultimate objective is that they will all be removed or modified such that fish have uninhibited movement the length of the water course.
- Riversdale, Bourne End.
A fish passage needs to be constructed.
Removal of the weir at Riverdale to allow fish migration between the River Thames and the River Wye will also provide a refuge for fish in the Thames in the situations of a main river flood or pollution event. This is a more costly operation than the removal of the other smaller weirs on the Wye. Cost estimate - £150,000, main benefits fish passage and flood improvement.
- Wessex Road, Bourne End.
Improve fish and eel passage by removing baffles. Estimated cost £21,000.
- The Courtyard, Furlong Road, Bourne End.
Possible removal of weir or modify to improve fish passage. Estimated cost £21,000.
- Millside, Bourne End.

- Soho Mills Industrial Estate, Wooburn.
